PROM

Phosphate Rich Organic Manure — Phosphorus and organic matter in the same bag. Roughly two-thirds of the phosphorus in a straight phosphatic fertiliser gets locked up in the soil before the crop reaches it; composting rock phosphate with organic matter, and the microbes that come with it, releases it more gradually and keeps more of it available. The organic carbon is the part a soil run on DAP alone has been missing.

Fertilisers FCO: moisture maximum 25%, minimum 90% through a 4.0 mm IS sieve, total nitrogen minimum 0.4%, C:N under 20, pH not above 6.7, and the same eight heavy-metal limits as city compost. The total P2O5 minimum is quoted differently by different manufacturers and must be taken from our own notification rather than from another company's bag. The FCO sets composition and labelling, not application rate. The rate should come from the state agriculture department or an agricultural university recommendation. To be confirmed shelf life

TechnicalPhosphate Rich Organic Manure
Chemical groupHigh-grade rock phosphate co-composted with organic matter
Mode of actionPhosphorus is released as the organic fraction breaks down and phosphate-solubilising bacteria work on the rock phosphate, rather than all at once.
